Maple Peach Barbecue Sauce

This homemade maple peach barbecue sauce is tangy, sweet, and smoky, making it the ideal side dish for your grilled meats and veggies. It is also Paleo-friendly. It's very simple to make and a healthier substitute for store-bought barbecue sauces!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen peaches, peeled and pitted
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of salt to taste

Instructions:

In a blender, combine the peaches, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, and tomato paste

Blend until smooth and well combined

Transfer the mixture to a saucepan and add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt

Stir to combine all the ingredients

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer

Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and flavors meld

Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt or maple syrup if desired

Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before using as a barbecue sauce for your favorite Paleo dishes

Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator
