Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup peach preserves
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Instructions:
Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C
Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it
Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy
Add the almond extract and mix well
Slowly add the all-purpose flour and mix it in until it's well blended
Fill the baking dish with two-thirds of the dough
Press it into an even layer at the bottom of the dish
Spread the peach jam on top of the dough in the baking dish
Break up the rest of the dough and sprinkle it on top of the peach preserves
Spread the sliced almonds out over the top
After the oven is hot, bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden
Let the almond peach squares cool all the way in the baking dish before you cut them into squares
Serve and have fun!
